Brett is a past Board President for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Forsyth, Davie and Yadkin County. Since 2002, he has been awarded numerous accolades for his service with BBBS, including North Carolina Big Brother of the Year, Presidential Volunteer Service Lifetime Award, and the United Way Volunteer of the Year. He has also been awarded the National Mentoring Excellence Award by Investing News.
Brett is also the founder and board member of the LVH ALS Foundation, which raises money to fund ALS research. The LVH ALS Foundation has raised over $1,000,000 for ALS research since its founding in 2014, making it the largest donor to ALS research in North Carolina, and one of the largest in the Southeast U.S. Funds raised benefit The Duke University ALS Clinic, one of the most comprehensive ALS clinics in the world.
Most recently, Brett has been named a board member of the Clemmons Community Foundation.
