As the lead strategist and senior managing director, Brett works directly with corporate executive clients, business owners and high-net-worth clientele. Offering a unique blend of tailored investment solutions and straightforward advice, Brett provides wealth management solutions to investors who value a superior level of service from an experienced financial advisor.

He brings a deep understanding of a wide range of investments, including equities, fixed income, funds, outside money managers, options and alternative investments.

Brett has earned several recognitions within BB&T for his performance, including the Sterling Performers award, the John Sherman, Jr. Leadership award and membership in the firm’s Presidents council. Brett was recognized by the Triad Business Journal as one of its 40 Leaders Under Forty in 2016, and a "Top 400 Financial Adviser" by The Financial Times in 2017, 2018 & 2020.

Community Service

A passionate community volunteer and mentor, Brett received the 2007 Forsyth County United Way Volunteer of the Year award, the Investment News’ Community Leadership award, and is a past president of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Forsyth, Davie and Yadkin counties.

In 2014, Brett founded The LVH ALS Foundation in honor of his stepfather, Larry V. Hughes. The foundation has quickly become one of the largest ALS research-based fundraisers in the area, contributing more than $2,000,000 to fund ALS research at Duke University.

Brett is also an active board member of the Clemmons Community Foundation and serves as chair of the Investment Committee.

Personal

Brett and his wife, Wendy, have been married since 2000 and have two children, Riley and Berkley. Brett enjoys hunting, fishing and golfing.
